How pole studio listings are verified on POLEMAD

POLEMAD is a worldwide directory of pole dance studios: 1073 studios across 53 destinations. Every listing starts from a public information search, and then a human (me, Lili) does a final pass before a studio goes live. Studios then claim their page to make it verified and update images, classes, prices and more. Here’s exactly what that means.

How a studio gets on the map

Found via Google Places. We index studios through the Google Places API as a starting point. The information is then enhanced using the studio’s own website.

Checked before listing. A combination of human review and automated checks confirms links and addresses are valid before a studio appears on the map.

Listed as unverified. The page shows basic public info and is clearly markedUnverifieduntil the owner confirms its info is up to date.

Claimed and verified. The owner proves they run the studio, either from an email on the studio’s own domain or by sending us a claim code from its Instagram. We check it by hand before the page earns aVerifiedmark, then they add photos, contact info and their story.

Why verify the studio?

Travellers use POLEMAD to find a pole studio in a new city, often within days of arriving. A verified badge tells them the schedule, photos and contact details come from the studio itself.
